Explore how one of the oldest photographic processes, cyanotype aka sun prints, plays so seamlessly with the joys of watercolor. Using some simple chemistry, watercolor paper, the sun (or a UV lamp), and pressed botanicals students will create a one-of-a-kind cyanotype.  Once completed Linda will introduce basic watercolor techniques to hand color your cyanotypes. This workshop would be a great Mother’s Day gift! If you have specific plants/flowers in mind to use you are more than welcome to bring them but plenty of materials and inspiration will be provided.

Linda has a BA in Art Education and spent 30 years teaching visual art in Florida before retiring and relocating to Texas. She works primarily in watercolor and fused glass. She is intrigued by the warmth and translucent effect of sunlight on surfaces in nature and enjoys the challenge of exploring these effects in her art.

Lora O’Shaughnessy is a Denton based photographer, zine maker, and doll enthusiast. She has a deep love for analog and historical photographic processes, storytelling, and research rabbit holes. When not in the darkroom, she can be found taking instant photographs with her boyfriend and cat.
