Making Miniatures Workshop by Donna Vaux

Step into a tiny, magical world where imagination shrinks and creativity grows! In this whimsical workshop, you’ll learn how to craft your own miniature treasures by hand—everything from itty-bitty books and pencils to delicate candles, paintbrushes, and more. If you can dream it, we’ll find a way to make it mini! Along the way, we’ll explore clever ways to transform everyday materials into enchanting little objects and learn to see the world through the curious, creative eyes of a miniature artist. ✨ Students are welcome to bring their snacks and drinks.

Donna Vaux is a mixed media miniature artist who transforms upcycled finds from thrift and antique stores into realistic, detailed miniature scenes. Creating dioramas allows her to explore a wide range of artistic techniques—including sculpting, painting, building, drawing, printing, and repurposing materials—while bringing tiny worlds to life. She teaches workshops and volunteers at the Denton Maker Center, and you can buy her creations at several locations throughout Denton.
