10/28 Traditional Life Drawing by Kalish

Participants will be able to gain the valuable experience of working from a live nude model. Chairs are available, however participants are expected to bring their own materials (including easels/drawing boards). Wet and dry media is allowed- participants are expected to keep the space tidy. Sessions will be moderated for the model’s safety and to answer questions related to life-drawing. The structure of each session will begin with gestures, and then gradually increase the lengths of time with a long pose towards the end. Please bring any supplies that you might need including an easel or drawing board. Chairs are provided for all participants and two tables are first-come-first-served. Due to the safety of the model, photographs are not permitted during sessions.

Kalish (they/them) is a figurative illustrator who has studied from live models for over a decade. They firmly believe in the practice of figure drawing as a tool to cultivate the skill of creative problem solving both in one’s art and in life. They weren’t born in Denton, but found their way there as fast as they could.
