This class will help students understand the basics of character design. The class will begin with a short presentation over the basics of character design, visual appeal, and concept art research. The class will then allow students to draw along with 1 on 1 advice, critique, and encouragement. Students should bring drawing materials (either traditional or digital). Paper and pencil recommended.
Walker Register is a Game Studies professor at the University of North Texas. While he has worked as an Unreal Engine 5 specialist, 3D modeler, and game developer for the University of Texas A&M, he also has a background in concept art and illustration. He graduated from Texas A&M with a master's degree in visualization and an undergraduate degree in business. He is available for consulting and freelance work.
